Brownies also will be completing fire escape plans with their families.
***Brownie’s also finished completing the requirements for their First Aid Try-it badge; This badge includes Practicing calling 911, determining what is an emergency, and learning basic first aid, such as bandaging and splinting minor injuries.
Engineer Skip Dukes and Firefighter/EMT John Payne went over the fire engine and equipment with the girls, while EMT's Jane Coulbourne and Kimberly Quathamer went over the ambulance and emergency situations. Coulbourne helped Firefighter Quathamer show the girls how firefighters "sound" and what they look like in a fire so they aren't scared, and that they need to respond to the firefighters so they can help them get out safely. All while showing the girls, girls can be firefighters too.
Support included Daisy Troop Leader and EMT Patricia Payne, her daughter EMT Kayla Flack, Cadet Kendall Leonard, and Brownie Troop Leader and HVFC Auxiliary Treasurer Lois Dukes.
Congratulations Troop 58!
